Cheerleading Mobile Shoot

Monday, 21 March 2011

Once in a blue moon, Captain Graphics is called on for something other than graphics. Indeed, there are many shoes that he must fill... I can be whatever this city needs me to be...

Anyway, just so happens that Media Group was doing a mobile production of the biggest high school cheerleading competition in Saskatchewan. Over 70 routines over the span of a day made for one giant production.

mobile20march07The crew met at Warman High School this friday evening, and set up all the gear. The competition ran all day Saturday. Rob Wurzer's Truck was contracted in to get the job done. Feeding the truck was 4 cameras, one of which was my station. I was the main wide shot, tasked with catching every throw, flip and spill.

mobile20march14At the helm was our director/switcher Matt Garand. Then there were like 5 other people who don't have sites to link to. Plus our amazing commentators, one TV reporter, and one former cheerleader!

It was one of the larger mobiles that Media Group has ever done, and I was happy to be a part of it! The competition will be available on SaskTel Max local on Demand later this week. In the mean time, I invite you to take a look at the photos I snapped during the production!
