For those who don't know, the Brier is a huge curling tournament held in a different Canadian city every year. The top teams from all over Canada compete to win over $200,000. The atmosphere is always rowdy, and the games are intense.
I was fortunate enough to get on as a TVA working for Dome/TSN and I must say it was an incredible experience. The scale of the production, the equipment and the staff were all very impressive!
I got a chance to meet some cameramen who have been in the business for many years. A few of them have been shooting sporting events for 30+ years! And you could tell. They all knew just how to flow with each other in a way I haven't experienced with a TV crew before.
I must say, after 11 games over 6 days, I think I've seen enough curling to last a lifetime! ut if you haven't been to a brier game, definitely check it out, just for the atmosphere!
Well, that's my story. It was an incredible chance to work with a very professional crew, and I count myself lucky to have been a part of it. Be sure to check out my photo gallery!
